Driving a Estate (station wagon) is pretty much uncool in this part of the World. Probably because they're perceived as being slow and branded as a "family" vehicles.
However in Europe its not. Mercedes Benz has the E63 AMG Estate, BMW, the M5 tourer and Audi the RS6 Avant. the Audi being the most powerful Estate in the world. Packing a 580 Hp twin turbo V10 Engine.

That's an astounding 87Hp difference!!! enough to power a small car. If u ask me, this is not a justified comparison test.

ReplyDeleteu have to Consider the Share weight between these cars.... also for me the astounding feature is having a case where a Mum returning from say Shop rite cruising an E 63 AMG estate... gets to Phase1 round about and some guy in an EOD tries to mess with her.... Ifshe's got the guts to push it... there's nothing the EOD will do to beat her.... that's how much unsuspecting these cars can be......
TO me its simple logic; BIGGER engine = FASTER car. for all I care, u can put a JET engine in a bigfoot and have it floor a BUGATI! would that be so unusual? I don't think so.
ReplyDeleteFOr those of you true car lovers, anyone remembers the "F1 ESPACE" a bus with almost a 1000Hp!!! now imagine that against a "SUZUKI ESCUDO" 981Hp. Now that is a race I'd like to see... WHY? cos they are MORE evenly matched!!!
@ Jigga, u do have a point. But in real world driving, most people would for example expect a 2009 Honda accord( beyond discussion as is popularly called in Nigeria) to Murder a GOlf Mark VI GTI. But the figures say something else. The Golf has VW's all to good Turbo Charged 4 putting out 200Hp while the 4 Cylinder of the accord puts out 177 for the LX and 190+ for the EX.

Everyone would expect the sports Car(R8) to have won, yes, if that was a Standard E class. But that was an E63. A freaking AMG!!!!!
